Contesting bands in the on going Star Quest reality TV show last night squared up for a big battle in a street rap, as the rave artiste of the moment 9ice visited Star Fame Land. The arrival of the Gonga So act in the house only raised the hostilities as he paired the bands to engage in rap battle.

Da-Heritage band was called out to lock horns with B-Six, Spectrum picked on Diamonds band while Next tackled Expozee. Not even the female members of the bands were spared. Yes, they had it tough, rough and naked but it was all war of words and no casualty was recorded at the end of the day.

In his final verdict, 9ice observed that the contestants were more of singers than rappers. ‘The next star people will definitely come among you. The sky is the beginning. You guys should be more creative and sound Nigerian. Leave all those Western people music, I beg. Go to your root: if you are Ibo, sound Ibo. If you are Yoruba, sound Yoruba like, if you bi hausa, rap in Hausa. If you bi Idoma, rap Idoma. Language is not a barrier in music. You can sing in any language you want to sing.” He said.

Back to their hostel, the bands created big fun trying to recap how the contest of the day went and the kind of yabis that they gave each other.

Three bands are expected to leave Star fame Land by the time voting ends at midnight this Wednesday.
